emily-styled haiku

i’ve always been jealous of people who keep journals, however i can’t seem to take myself seriously enough to write in one. My version of a journal often involves short poems or haikus–here are this weeks:

sanding my mom’s deck
several splinters in my ass
at least i get paid

jewelry and flowers
my baby spoils me so
i am so lucky

depressed and restless
an identity crisis
must be the full moon

boredom inspires
i’m finally reaching out
new friendships forming

a hot summer day
filled with kids, laugher and sand
i’m blessed with this job

a lovely weekend
my self-esteem is blooming
right here in your arms
